Fertilizing: A Key Step in Perfecting Your Nebraskan Lawn.
Any great lawn requires a boost, and fertilizer fills that role. It acts as food for the lawn, maintaining constant growth, promoting bright, vibrant color and maintaining overall health.
Based on our decades of experience treating lawns in Eastern Nebraska, we have a complete understanding of the climate and thus created one program to cover all the bases for optimal lawn health.
Our unique 6-Step Premier Lawn Care Program
Our 6-Step Premier Lawn Care Program includes all the necessary high-quality fertilizers and preventative chemicals to not only make your lawn shine, but eliminate elements that would disrupt it. We apply two rounds of a broad spectrum, pre-emergence product that stops crabgrass, foxtail and other pesky weeds before they have a chance to sprout. We also do another broadcast application in the spring to deal with nutsedge, a common nuisance we have seen in the area for many years.
We apply pre-emergent products for crabgrass, foxtail, and spurge with granular extended release spring fertilizer packed with micro-nutrients.
We apply a complete broadcast application to control broadleaf weeds such as dandelions, clover, chickweed and more.
We put a second round of pre-emergent down to combat crabgrass, foxtail, and spurge with granular extended release fertilizer to enhance color and promote heat stress tolerance.
We apply a balanced summer fertilizer with sulfur, iron, and micro-nutrients to aid in heat and drought tolerance. We also add granular preventive insecticide for sod web worm, billbugs, and grubs. We continue to treat for broadleaf weeds and yellow nutsedge.
With winter around the corner, we apply extended release fall fertilizer with iron for enhanced color and micro-nutrients for drought recovery.
Since it is the last treatment of the season, we use winter fertilizer to promote strong root development, lateral growth and early spring green-up.
If you require additional applications of any product throughout the year, we can do that for a fee. If your lawn is particularly infested, we may have to up the application amount and charge you for this as well. Though the timing of our applications is listed above, they are general and may be adjusted based on the particular weather and soil conditions that year. We also offer soil testing services if you are interested. Remember to water your lawn regularly as well, or the work we are doing with the applications won’t be nearly as apparent. One to one and one half inches a week are required to maintain your healthy lawn.
If you upgrade to our Premier Lawn Care Program, aeration and seeding will be a part of your fall routine as well.
As required by State and Federal Law, we are certified with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture to apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.
